Born in rural Wairarapa, I grew up on a farm however after I left school I moved to Wellington and have lived there ever since.
I started photography as a hobby and ended up doing weddings and a few family portraits, but when my 2 beautiful daughters arrived wedding photography couldn’t compete for weekend time so I progressed to a form of photography that is best done in the more unsociable hours, landscapes.
As they say you can take the boy out of the country but you can’t take the country out of the boy and this holds true for me as I love being out of the city.
Taking landscapes allows me to reconnect with my country roots (albeit mostly seascapes around Wellington) and is usually best done during sunrise or sunset so frees me up for weekend time with family.
For me personally the passion that I have for landscape photography is the opportunity to witness and frame the artistry of God. Being out there connecting with this ever changing beauty that is nature brings a sense of peace in this chaotic world that sometimes surrounds us.
I hope my images bring you that same sense of peace and respect for the beauty that we are so blessed to have in New Zealand.
